Vuosi 2018 oli itselleni mekkojen vuosi. Asetin tämän teemavuoden viime vuoden tammikuussa aikomuksenani toteuttaa monta ihanaa mekkounelmaa.
Nyt, mekkojen vuoden tultua päätökseen, on aika kerätä yhteen kaikki ihanat mekot, jotka kuluneen vuoden aikana ompelin. Toteutuneita mekkounelmia on yhteensä 19 (+ pari pientä mekkoa pienelle vejentytölleni).
Ompelin viime vuonna paljon muitakin vaatteita, mutta nämä 19 mekkoa ovat kuitenkin ehdottomasti suosikkiprojektini.
Teemavuosi antoi itselleni hyvän syyn ommella rakastamiani mekkoja. Olisinko ommellut ne joka tapauksessa? Luultavasti kyllä. Nautin kuitenkin teemavuoden suunnittelusta ja toteuttamisesta. Enkä näe lainkaan mahdottomana, etteikö tulevaisuudessani olisi vielä toinenkin mekkojen vuosi.
Mikä ompelemistani mekoista on oma suosikkini? Tähän kysymykseen on vaikea vastata. Jokainen mekko on erilainen ja jokainen on myös selvästi omaa tyyliäni. Kaikille mekoille on ollut käyttöä.
Jätän tälle teemavuodelle jäähyväiset hieman haikein mielin. Mutta onneksi uudet ompeluhaasteet odottavat. Ja niihinkin sisältyy monen monta kaunista mekkoa.

Year 2018 was my year of dresses. I set myself this theme year last January aiming at making many dress dreams come true.
Now that the year has come to its end, it is time to look back at all the lovely dresses I was able to sew during last year. In total, that is 19 dresses (+ some small dresses for my little niece).
These dresses are not the only thing I sewed last year. But is it fair to say that these 19 dresses are my favorite sewing projects.
This theme year gave me a great reason to sew as many dresses as I liked. And I just love dresses… Would I have sewn these dresses anyway – without a theme year? Probably yes. But I enjoyed planning and making this theme year come true. And I can say that there might be future years of dresses somewhere in my future.
Which one of these dresses is my own favourite? This is a difficult question. Each dress has its unique style and they are all the perfect fit to my personal style. I have worn all these dresses during the year.
I must say that I am a little bit sad to say good bye to this theme year. Luckily I have many happy sewing challenges ahead of me. And I can promise that these will include more lovely dresses.
