Vuosi 2018 tuo tullessaan teemavuoden ompelupöydälleni, tänne verkkosivulleni ja Instagram-tililleni. Vuosi tulee olemaan Mekkojen vuosi!

Tosiasia on, että vaikka kuinka yritän itselleni välillä muuta vakuuttaa, rakastan mekkoja. Rakastan ommella mekkoja, käyttää mekkoja ja suunnitella mekkoja. Niinpä päätin antaa periksi ja katsoa mitä mekkojen täyteinen ompeluvuosi voi tuoda tullessaan.

Mekkojen vuoden tavoitteet:

• Kokeilla mahdollisimman montaa eri mekkokaavaa
• Käyttää monipuolisesti erilaisia kankaita
• Tutustua mekkojen ompelun historiaan ja erilaisiin tekniikoihin
• Pitää hauskaa

Rajoituksia ommeltaville mekoille on vain yksi:

• Mekkojen on sovittava tyyliini ja elämääni

Mekkojen vuosi ei suinkaan tarkoita, ettenkö ompelisi vuoden aikana myös muita vaatteita. Nämä muut projektit rajoittuvat kuitenkin enemmän siihen, mitä vaatekaappini välttämättä tarvitsee (esimerkkinä uusi kesätakki). Teemavuosi kuitenkin tarkoittaa, että minulla on lupa ommella mekkoja niin paljon kuin vain haluan ilman ajatusta, että pitäisihän sitä välillä ommella jotain muutakin.

Kaavakokoelmastani löytyy suuri joukko ihania mekkokaavoja. Otan kuitenkin mielelläni vastaan myös ehdotuksia kivoista kaavoista, jotka olisivat kokeilemisen arvoisia. Ehdotuksia voi jättää joko kommentilla tai lähettää sähköpostilla.

Year 2018 will be a theme year when it comes to my sewing table, website and Instagram account. It will be the Year of Dresses!

The fact is, that no matter how hard I try to tell myself something else, I love dresses. I love to sew dresses, wear dresses and design dresses. That is why I decided to give up and see what a sewing year filled with dresses could bring along.

Goals of the Year of Dresses:

• Try as many new dress patterns as possible
• Use different types of fabric
• Get to know history of dresses and dressmaking techniques
• Have fun

There is only one limiting criteria:

• All dresses need to fit in my style and life

Year of Dresses does not mean that I would not sew also something else during the year. However, these other sewing projects will be more about the things I really need (like a new summer coat). This theme year simply means that I am allowed to sew as many dresses as I want – without the thought that I should have more versatile projects.

I have many lovely dress patterns in my pattern stash. However, I am happy to hear any suggestions. So if you have a wonderful pattern in your mind, please share it by leaving a comment or sending me an email.
